Anne Besnard

Passionate about dogs in general and retrievers in particular, I have devoted more than twenty years to their training, with a constant focus on developing and preserving each dog’s natural working abilities. I have been fortunate to achieve significant results with my dogs, including several international champions and two victories at the French Field Trial Championships.

While competition is an important aspect of our sport, my greatest pleasure remains days in the field shared with my dogs, where teamwork, reliability and true hunting spirit are essential.

I have been actively involved with the Association Sportive des Utilisateurs de Retrievers (ASUR) since 2004, contributing to the organisation of high-quality Working Tests and Field Trials. For over twenty years, these events have been held on exceptional grounds offering a wide variety of biotopes. Great care is taken to appoint experienced and committed judges, and to design tests that reflect genuine hunting situations, in order to safeguard the natural qualities of retrievers as defined by the FCI.

An official Working Test judge, I am currently completing my qualification as a Field Trial judge, a further step which I undertake with dedication and high standards.

I wish all competitors two rewarding days, filled with enjoyment alongside their dogs, and the opportunity to share memorable moments of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

Good luck to all — and may the best team prevail.
